Charles Montagna

Charles S. Montagna was the founding partner of Montagna Law. Charles, or as his clients called him, Chuck, was born on February 14, 1941, in Norfolk, Virginia. Chuck spent his formative years in the Montagna family’s shoe store business, where he learned the basics of serving the public. These were skills that aided him later in his career as an attorney.

Chuck attended Granby High School and went on to Old Dominion College, graduating in 1963. He then earned his law degree from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 1966.

Chuck’s legal career spanned seven decades, during which he continually applied the principles instilled in him during his youth at the family shoe store. He used these values to advise and support clients as diverse as the Hampton Roads community itself, representing individuals from all walks of life. Chuck took great pride in helping others, and the success of his practice reflected this dedication. Many clients remained loyal to Chuck throughout the decades, returning for advice they knew they could trust, from a man who understood and respected them.

Chuck continued to work until the age of 84, passing away on November 13, 2024. Nothing brought him more joy than serving his clients, and he never wished to retire. At Montagna Law, we remain committed to carrying forward the legacy Chuck established. Helping the people of Hampton Roads will always be our priority.
